Released in 2001, The Lord of the Rings is Peter Jackson's Academy Award-winning retelling of J.R.R. Tolkien's legendary fantasy trilogy about the adventures of Frodo Baggins and friends as they journey to fight evil and save Middle-Earth. Jackson took home a total of 17 Academy Awards for the trilogy, including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Cinematography. Jackson followed up in 2012 with The Hobbit trilogy, which received a total of seven Academy Award nominations.

This is a great deal on the hefty film set, but it's not the only early Prime Day deals Lord of the Rings fans should check out. The retailer is also discounting the giant, Deluxe Illustrated Editions of The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, and The Silmarillion All three special edition hardcover books come with a slipcover and premium details like cloth board covers, quarterbound leather spines, and collectible inserts. The set would normally retail for $640, but this sale takes the price for all three down to $270.97.
