Bethesda has put its weight behind a trio of new Fallout 4 mods as part of the ongoing Fallout Day celebrations.
The Verified Creations label sees Bethesda support modders in an official capacity as they build upon the now 11-year-old post-apocalyptic role-playing game. First up we have FEVer Dreams, from Kinggath Creations, which comes out today, October 20. It’s a free escape room-style dungeon that “inundates players with hallucinations and flashbacks, including conversations with their spouse.” What’s interesting here is FEVer Dreams features the voice of Courtenay Taylor, who played the female sole Survivor in Fallout 4, and Brian T. Delaney, who played the male Sole Survivor in Fallout 4. That’s pretty impressive for a mod!
Meanwhile, Command Override, from Hobgoblin Studios, lets players see through a robot’s eyes and pilot it remotely. It includes a new robot hacking ability, a Robco headquarters dungeon, and — in a first for Verified Creators — a live action trailer. Command Override launches for Fallout 4 on October 21.
And finally, Fathomless, from Zone Zero Creations, is described as a cosmic horror expansion set deep within the Atlantic Ocean. “Following the path of an ambitious pre-war expedition, the sole survivor descends to a mysterious deep-sea crater,” the official blurb reads. It features a new underwater worldspace and interiors, a new storyline with voiced dialogue, and over five unique enemy NPCs. This one’s out in 2027.
These new mods come out during Bethesda’s official Fallout Day celebrations. Fallout Day itself is this Friday, October 23 (October 23, 2077 is of course the day in the Fallout timeline the bombs fell, sparking The Great War that caused the irradiated wasteland fans of the franchise have been playing in over the last few decades).
Fallout’s 30th anniversary arrives next year, so expect some big announcements from Bethesda then. What’s it working on? It’s got everything from Fallout 3 and New Vegas remasters to Fallout 5, with an Obsidian-developed Fallout spinoff in there somewhere. Work continues on Fallout 76 and Fallout Shelter, and Season 3 of the Fallout TV series is also incoming. In short, Microsoft is doubling down on Fallout, with new Xbox boss Asha Sharma striving for increased profitability.
