Pelacakan seluruh tubuh bisa hadir di Steam Frame berkat perangkat supercharged seperti Base Station ini yang tidak memerlukan dukungan headset

The Steam Frame uses inside-out tracking to map your movements in virtual reality. That means it no longer requires any external setup to get you into VR. Great, right? But what if, instead of just the controllers and headsets, you want to track your entire body in virtual reality? That's what Soulart is looking to solve.

Valve had previously relied on Base Stations to track the Valve Index. They are still in use today for a bunch of headsets from Bigscreen Beyond and Pimax, too. These Base Stations, made by both Valve and HTC, use infrared to track the absolute position of objects, namely headsets and controllers, and they can be used with trackers attached to objects or a person to track their movements in VR or on stream.

There are other ways to track a user's body on stream, ie for VTubers, but Soulart's solution looks pretty neat for VR gaming. The company's device is a motion tracker, similar to a Base Station, except it runs independently of a PC using its own NPU. This can then be hooked into SteamVR to be used in any game that supports this level of motion tracking. VRChat is the main target.

"With Soulartโ€™s Motion Intelligence system, Station & App will transform your actions into a wide range of applications, such as VR games, motion-captures, simulations, and many more."

The device, simply called Station, maps up to 50m2 and runs up to 120 Hz. It does admit that using machine learning can lead to "slightly higher latency and error." The company says only one is required, but for improved tracking, multiple Stations are best. This is where I am at pains to tell you these cost 'under $400' each, which is vague on account of being in early production before a planned Kickstarter campaign.

The company posted on its X account that it's working on developing standalone support for the Steam Frame, which would completely cut out the need for another computer.

An alternative to a system comes from Fluxpose, which uses a whole bunch of rechargeable 6DOF trackers that can track whatever they're stuck to. Again, these work in SteamVR, and yes, it's all about mapping full-body movements in VRChat.
