Perampokan GTA 6 Harus Tak Terduga

Robberies will play a huge part in GTA 6, but there's more than meets the eye. Based on what we know so far, basically any store you walk into can be robbed, but there are different tiers to robberies.

At the lowest level, any convenience store, or any small local store you walk into, you can rob. These are not marked on the map, they're just stores you'll stumble across during your adventures through Leonida. It sounds like these robberies will get you a small amount of cash in a pinch, but if you want to start pulling off grander heists, you'll need to look for bigger jobs.

These robberies do show up on the map, but not right away. In order to find them, you need to explore the map, get tips from NPCs, or maybe overhear something. While we don't know all the ways these robbery opportunities can be discovered, we do know that once you have a lead or a tip they will show up on the map. Once discovered, hovering over them will show you the potential cash to be earned.

This is similar to Red Dead Redemption 2, although it wasn't quite as robust. In Red Dead's case, every now and again a crew member might tell you something, or you might help out a stranger who would give you a tip. It sounds like GTA 6 is going to double-down on that concept.

Some of the higher tier robbery locations will have more than just cash. Depending on the store you're robbing you could find jewelry, gold bars, or drugs. The higher the tier, the greater the rewards, but they'll also be trickier to pull off and make money from.

Based on the Extended Look, it seems like Rockstar is making robberies feel more dynamic. One way of doing that is making NPCs more reactive and responsive to your actions. For example, if you go in and try to rob a place, an NPC could see an opportunity to tackle you and ruin your attempt. This happens somewhat often, so be on the lookout for who's in the store, keeping an eye on the crowd control you'll need to do. That storytelling and immersive experience could be really cool, as long as there's enough variation.

It also seems like a lot of the stores have a back room containing a safe. You can't just open the safe, you'll need to find the code. There are multiple ways to do this--finding a code in the environment, overhearing an NPC mentioning it, or getting a text with the code. There might be a way to strengthen relationships with these characters to get the code, or buy equipment to supply it. In Red Dead Redemption there's the ability to put dynamite on safes to blow them up, so there might be a similar mechanic in GTA 6.

Another thing to consider are CCTV cameras. We already know that the GTA 6 wanted levels will display an icon if the police have spotted you on CCTV. If you don't take care of CCTV cameras, the police can track you. There presumably will be a way to delete the CCTV footage, but perhaps you can simply shoot the cameras out, too.

If you do manage to pull off a higher-tier robbery and escape with a good amount of goods or cash, you'll need to take that to a specific place or person. Throughout Leonida there are different fences depending on the items you get--jewelry, drugs, and gold will all have their own fences. You'll need to take it to them to convert it into money, adding an extra element to robberies. With the smaller stores, it's fair to assume you'll just get cash that you can deposit into your bank.

With the bigger robberies, you'll need to plan ahead. Some vehicles can store a lot of stolen goods, some can store a little, and bikes can only store what your character can carry. However, a van is much slower and tougher to escape cops in, so it might be smarter to choose a faster vehicle with some trunk space. You'll need to find a place to rob, case it out, find the CCTV, figure out when it's busy, source a getaway vehicle, figure out what you're stealing and make a plan to get the goods to a fence.

When you start up the game, you don't know a lot of fences. You'll have to play through the GTA 6 story and become acquainted with more of them, opening the avenues for you to be able to steal things of higher value.

In terms of stealing money, you'll need to be careful when you're carrying a lot. If you die, you'll lose either a significant chunk or all of it. You'll need to get to an ATM to deposit the money to ensure it's safe. We don't yet know how smart the cops are--if you've just executed a robbery, will they be waiting at nearby ATMs to see if you'll turn up to deposit the cash?

Robberies in GTA 6 are very different, there's way more going on and you need to think a lot more about setting up the robbery. Gone are the days where you could mark all of the convenience stores on the map, going from one to the next and robbing them, leaving with no repercussions. In GTA 6 the stakes are far higher, and you can't go on an unending robbing spree.

The major remaining questions surround the fact that Jason and Lucia can pull off robberies together, but we don't know much about how that works. Do they issue commands to one another? Could Jason ask Lucia to handle crowd control, or could Lucia ask Jason to swing around with the getaway vehicle. We'll have to wait until GTA 6 releases on November 19 to find out.
