Are you scratching your head because of the Makeshift Projectile in Mortal Shell 2? This item can be found while you’re exploring the overworld sections of the game world. You can then use it to launch an explosive at … somewhere. The point is, the game doesn’t tell you where that big rock landed and you might end up spending so much time looking for that exact spot. Fortunately, our guide has all the details that you need.

The Catapult, the Makeshift Projectile, and the Alchemist’s Workshop, oh my!

The Mortal Shell 2 Makeshift Projectile is actually in the Mammon region. That said, the map below shows you three points of interest--the catapult, the Makeshift Projectile, and the Alchemist’s Workshop--which we tackle in order.

Where to find the catapult?

The catapult itself is fairly close to the Outskirts of Mammon beacon. From the beacon, check the grassy area to the southeast. You should see the siege weapon, which is being watched by several soldiers. Ruk is also perched nearby, so don't forget to grab the region map. Anyway, just make a mental note of this location since you need to return here later.

Where to find the Makeshift Projectile

The Makeshift Projectile, meanwhile, is in the southern edge of the Outskirts of Mammon zone. From the beacon, go southeast and cross the rope bridges to the lowlands. Just past an NPC named Vlas, you should see an opening underneath the large stone bridge. Keep going south to the edge of the cliff to find the item, as well as a note.

Once you have the Makeshift Projectile, take it back to the catapult and use it. This will cause the catapult to launch a large rock at a certain location. So, where did the Mortal Shell 2 Makeshift Projectile land? Let’s find out, shall we?

The Alchemist’s Workshop

From the Outskirts of Mammon, head to the central zone known as the Castigator’s Keep. If you check the rocky outcroppings to the west, you’ll notice a construction site and several Miner enemies. Follow the cliffside path that leads to the construction area. You should then see a section that has been destroyed by the projectile. It takes you to a dungeon called the Alchemist’s Workshop.

The Alchemist’s Workshop itself has several goodies and interesting tidbits:

• There’s an alchemical brew on a desk. If you consume it, your character’s camera view will tilt sideways, which can be very disorienting. This dissipates if you interact with the prompt on the desk once more.
• In an inner chamber, there’s a dais that has a Synaptic Vessel, which you can use to upgrade the Mether’s Flask, as well as five Glimpse materials for your shells.
• At the bottom of the elevator shaft, you have to fight a Shell Snatcher enemy that’s guarding the Clockwork Shardstone.
