The conceit of the game is that you and your friends are on an island getaway at the Spocco Resort. The idea is to compete in 12 different sports, all of which use motion controls via Joy-Con 2. This means you’ll likely have to get up off the couch and swing the controllers around to do things like hit the ball in a tennis match or swing a golf club.
The main question you might have is, is the game any good? According to our just-published Nintendo Switch Sports review, it is indeed good. Reviewer Jesse Vitelli gave it a score of 7/10, which means exactly “Good” on the official IGN scale, writing, “While the quality of its sports varies drastically, Nintendo Switch Sports Resort is a fun and playful collection overall that shines as the party game it’s meant to be.”
But again, the preorder discount Amazon and Walmart are offering on physical versions of the game are likely to go away once it’s out. And it’s out tomorrow, October 22. So grab it before then if you want to save $10.
