Game Roblox mulai keluar dari Roblox: Para pembuat konten akan segera dapat mengekspor aplikasi mandiri untuk PC, konsol, dan mobile

Roblox, as we know, is a behemoth. Industry analyst Matthew Ball, now chief strategy officer at Xbox, said in 2025 that Roblox accounted for more player engagement and revenue growth than Steam, PlayStation, and Fortnite combined. Now it's looking to expand its reach even further by giving Roblox creators the ability to release their work as standalone games.

Part of Roblox's immense popularity can be attributed to the fact that it's not just a game, it's a platform where people can create and share their own games, and earn money on them. That's a limiting factor—some games on Roblox are huge, but they're still fenced into that specific ecosystem—but the new initiative revealed during the Roblox Developers Conference called Roblox Everywhere aims to change that: "Soon, creators will have the option to make their games available as standalone apps across mobile, PC, and consoles, with Roblox powering the technology and services underneath."

The first, most obvious question is whether these standalone creations can be offered on storefronts like Steam, Epic, and GOG, and details on that are still being nailed down. A Roblox rep told PC Gamer that having them available on storefronts across all platforms is the goal, but options are still being explored: "We will start with a select set of gaming developers and storefronts to test, and we will share more details soon."

This is a significant move, with potentially major impact. Roblox is obviously the big dog but there are still huge audiences outside the platform that Roblox game makers currently can't reach. Assuming that these standalone games can be released on other major storefronts as Roblox hopes, it opens a lot of doors for individual creators and Roblox alike. And while it's easy to be dismissive of Roblox games as inherently garbo or greasy kid stuff, that's just not the case. As PC Gamer's Morgan Park wrote earlier this year about the hit Roblox shooter TTK, "many folks [are] only now learning that the platform is capable of more than idle clickers, horror walking sims, and 'obbys' (obstacle platformers)."

It's also interesting as a sort of reverse take on the 'meet gamers where they are' strategy that's seen conventional game makers edge closer to Roblox and similar platforms: Starbreeze, for instance, launched a new Payday spinoff on Roblox earlier this year, while Mattel's new move into videogames is focused specifically "on creator platforms such as Roblox and Fortnite." Conventional publishers may be increasingly seeing the money on Roblox, but Roblox is clearly peering back at them, too.

Roblox Everywhere isn't the only way Roblox is looking to expand its reach. The company also expects to have its games joinable in a browser (Chrome first, others to follow) by the end of the year, with no external software or installation required, and it also plans to roll out a new offline option that will enable singleplayer games even if they're not on a network.
