Star Wars Zero Company released in late August, and the game has evidently found an audience, as market-data firm Alinea Analytics estimates that the game has sold 1 million units.

Writing on Twitter, analyst Rhys Elliott shared the estimate, which heavily favors PC. Roughly 70% of sales were on PC--unsurprising given the turn-based-tactics genre--with PlayStation following at roughly 20% and Xbox at about 10%. Elliott called its performance thus far "respectable for the genre and during such a crowded period" that also saw the launch of games like Onimusha: Way of the Sword and The Blood of Dawnwalker.

Elliott also noted, however, that Zero Company's appeal is almost entirely to Western audiences, with less than 5% of the game's players being in Asia.

The news comes weeks after developer Bit Reactor furloughed a large portion of its staff, and it isn't yet clear when or if they will be able to resume their work at the studio. Having Zero Company perform well commercially would presumably make publisher EA more interested in a sequel, but it also comes at a very strange time for the company, which was just taken private as part of a deal with the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund.
