What We Do in the Shadows' Matt Berry voices an IKEA Kallax bookcase in a free official Creation for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

The infamous IKEA storage unit will become a fully-fledged in-game companion, Kallax Storageborn, able to carry your items and prevent you becoming easily over-encumbered. You'll even be able to summon him with a custom Dragon Shout (AYE-KEY-YAH). Yes, IKEA.

Why is Berry being roped in to lend his baritone boom to a bookcase? Well, this is an officially-licensed IKEA collaboration that plays on the infamous annoyance of being over-encumbered within the game.

But there's seemingly more here than just a simple joke. Not only have Berry's talents been secured, but developer Kinggath Creations has crafted a full quest with two new IKEA-themed dungeons, and a boss fight against the Clutter Golem. Need help assembling your inventory? You'll also be able to wield the Dwemer Allen Key weapon, wear the Meatball Helmet, and gobble meatball food items.

"At IKEA, we believe in creating a better everyday life for the many people — and why shouldn't that include their digital lives?" said IKEA exec Kemi Anthony. "Skyrim possesses one of the largest modding communities in gaming, and we saw a space where our expertise in functional storage could make a real difference in this fantasy world.

"Matt Berry's distinctive, legendary voice brings theatrics, booming authority and charm to the new Creation. In bringing Kallax to life we hope to not only make a meaningful difference for Skyrim players but doing so with a touch of added IKEA playfulness to delight gamers who've long been bogged down by too much stuff."

This isn't Berry's first video game credit, of course. You can hear his dulcet tones right now in LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight as Bane, or in the celebrated 2024 British indie adventure Thank Goodness You're Here!

It's a busy time for Berry, who is due to appear next year in both Sonic the Hedgehog 4 and A Minecraft Movie Squared. This year, he'll appear as The Fish in a new Bill Hader-starring adaptation of The Cat in the Hat.

The IKEA Kallax Storageborn add-on Creation will be available to download for free via Bethesda Game Studios in-game Creations menu from today, September 9.
